Rory McIlroy surged to the lead of The Honda Classic with a third round 4-under (66) and an aggregate total of 11-under. He leads by two over rookie Harris English and journeyman Tom Gillis. If McIlroy could hold on to win, he would ascend to the top spot in the Official World Golf Rankings.
The course finally seemed to show it's "claws" as the wind began to become a factor. A number of players including Charl Scwhartzel and Rickie Fowler had some nice rounds going before making some mistakes coming in.
With weather expected to become a disruptive factor, fourth round tee times have been moved up to split tee threesomes beginning at 8:30am.
Check back tomorrow to see if McIlroy is able to shake the curse of the 54-hole lead!
