Valero Texas Open - One-and-Done

The Valero Texas Open is set to kick off at TPC San Antonio, with Charley Hoffman as the defending champion. Given his extremely good course history, he's a viable option for a one-and-done selection despite the pressure of defending.

After weighing the options, I've decided to take the bait and go with Hoffman. Like Luke Donald proved last week in Hilton Head, sometimes a guy who is a true course horse is just too good to pass up.

Hoffman played great in the windy conditions at the Masters, and will face some light breezes in San Antonio. That's right up his alley.

RBC Heritage - One-and-Done

The RBC Heritage is set to kick off on Thursday morning at Harbour Town Golf Links. While the chalk for the one-and-done game might be Matt Kuchar, I'm taking a South Carolinian with a solid track record and strong current form.

William McGirt gets the nod after playing well in his first Masters. McGirt has pair of T9s in his last three trips to Hilton Head, so hopefully converging trends have us covered.

Best of luck to all!

Masters - One-and-Done

What promises to be a rather unique Masters will kick off in less than 12 hours, and here is this week's one-and-done selection.

In truth, Dustin probably wasn't going to be my play this week regardless of circumstances. That said, his back injury Wednesday night seals that deal. For me, this week came down to Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth.

Weather is supposed to be very windy for the first two rounds, and it appears that will be the case for virtually all tee times. My hope is that Spieth's masters of the greens at Augusta National will help him navigate his way to the weekend where he will catch fire in calmer conditions.

The guy has never finished worse than second here, so in Spieth we trust!

Best of luck to all!
